If you want a mobile phone contract and you have a bad credit rating your options are obviously more limited than someone with an unblemished credit history.
The problem you are facing is that in the eyes of a credit provider you appear untrustworthy. It may be that you have defaulted on a loan, perhaps you have a CCJ against your name or maybe you have even been made bankrupt in the last couple of years.
It all means that a mobile phone provider will be reluctant to let you have a monthly repayment plan as they will be nervous that you will not pay back the instalments.
Your options are either take a sim only deal or find a mobile phone provider who is friendly towards people with a bad credit history.
Some big mobile providers are friendly towards bad credit people
Some providers such as orange and T mobile are a little bit more tolerant towards those with an adverse credit score,
whereas Vodafone won’t touch anyone who has a history of late and missed payments.
In order to get the best mobile phone contract deals for bad credit people, it may be necessary to go through an intermediary such as phone for you or carphone warehouse who may be able to tweak the application form to get you a good contract with a prime mobile phone provider.

I have to say I really do not know any mobile phone operators that are friendly to people with bad credit. I think this is an absolute myth. I mean,. christ if you have bad credit you have bad credit. Operators will be reluctant to give you a phone and contract as they will be concerned that you will not pay the monthly bills.
I cannot believe that there is an option which does not involve SIM only. Madness.
You don’t tend to see the big phone operators promoting mobile phone contracts for people with bad credit. I’m sure it does exist though.
